The Gujarat government has announced a steep salary hike, ranging
between 63 and 124 per cent, for its employees in the fixed-pay category
under the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations.
The new salary structure, effective February 1, will cost the state exchequer ₹1,300 crore.
Beneficiaries
The move, which followed the Supreme Court’s harsh remarks about the state government’s fixed-pay policy, will benefit over 1,18,700 State government employees in different cadres.
